Caring for Clothing

All clothing purchased off of the site includes a Clothing Care Label.

This label includes:

  • Wash care instructions
  • Place of origin
  • Fiber content
  • Manufacturer information (Spitfire Threads)

ALL fabrics are pre-washed in Dreft unless otherwise noted.

  • This is to pre-shrink and remove all fabric factory chemicals.

IF you do not follow care instructions and dry your clothing on high, you may shrink it more.. And you may ruin it.

  • Spitfire Threads is NOT held liable if you do not care for your clothing properly.

General care instructions - UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON YOUR CLOTHING LABEL:

  • Wash on a cool, delicate cycle, with like colors
  • DO NOT BLEACH / DO NOT IRON
  • Tumble dry low

To get the MOST out of your clothing (as with ANY clothing purchased - not just Spitfire Threads):

  • Use the hand wash cycle, if available - Or hand wash
  • Lay flat to dry
  • New to hand washing? It's not so scary - Google!
    • Washboards and Zote soap are very affordable on Amazon! This is great for delicates.

Help! My baby got a stain on their outfit.

  • Breathe. There are several ways to handle this, but please remember, these are only best practices and not intended to replace wash care instructions. Proceed at your own risk.
  • What I do for my daughter is:
    • Gently rinse in cool water then use Oxyclean Stain Remover, very well - until it can't be seen. Immediately wash as normal.
      • Heat can set stains so I avoid it as much as possible.
      • Try to avoid rubbing stain into fibers more. Brush up and off as much as possible.
    • OR, I use the hand washing method. Zote soap and a washboard has saved our butts multiple times.
      • Remember, cool water!!!!
